We are seeking to hire an Experienced Medical Assistant who is capable of providing routine patient care under the direction/guidance of the clinical supervisor and/or physician as well as manage appointment scheduling, patient registration, answering incoming call and other related clerical functions as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • MA with previous medical office experience of at least 2 years.
  • MA will conduct front office functions as requested including answering telephone inquiries and triaging calls, maintaining patient electronic medical records (eClinicalWorks).
  • MA Must have exceptional telephone skills for triaging patient calls
  • MA prepares patient rooms for examination.
  • MA administers immunizations, perform EKG’s, ear washes, and other patient services
  • MA assists in simple office minor surgical procedures.
  • MA maintains medical records.
  • MA performs laboratory duties including drawing, prepping blood for testing, spinning, maintaining logs and equipment.
  • MA communicates with lab services to whom samples are submitted to.
  • MA enters test requisitions and encounters.
  • MA contacts patients as needed to give testing results, instructions from the physician and scheduling of necessary future visits.
  • MA will be required to communicate effectively with patients and fellow staff members in courteous and effective manner.
  • MA will need to be good at multitasking.
  • MA will need to have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a valid MA school certificate.
  • MA works on collecting documentation to support HEDIS, MRA and other Quality Programs

Job Summary: The Medical Receptionist position provides the first and last in-person experience patients and visitors have with the medical practice. In addition, the Medical Receptionist maintains the medical record by uploading all indicated documents to the patients record.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors with kindness and respect
  • Maintain visitor log, patient sign in sheet
  • Check patients in and collect co-payments
  • Schedule future patient visits
  • Check patients out after their visit with the provider
  • Verify insurance eligibility
  • obtaining medical records to/from other providers to coordinate care
  • Scan and categorize primary or supporting documents or records into the patients medical record. Makes sure all necessary forms are signed and scanned into EMR system, Copy insurance cards and ID as required
  • Answer and appropriately direct or respond to all incoming calls, faxes, emails, or other form of correspondence.
  • Answer general questions regarding provider referral recommendations. Obtain assistance from medical professional when scope of questions exceeds knowledge base. Answer multi-line phone with excellent communication skills
  • Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking messages, or completing insurance forms.
  • Research and plan for upcoming clinic days to promote acquisition of missing items within the medical record of scheduled patients
  • Follow up on patient no shows

The ideal candidate must have a professional attitude with exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

A strong customer service background is a must. Multitasking skills are required for this fast-paced environment. Being bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities include all front desk tasks e.g. Patient check-in, check-out, answering multiple phone lines, scheduling appointments, computer skills, typing messages, performing follow-up and confirmation calls, and insurance verification.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a primary care setting or specialty office
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record software
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Consistent punctuality and dependability
